Hit both parks on Saturday - starting at Wellington Wetlands off Flying Cow Road. Northern harrier, merlin, & kestrels active, loggerhead shrike everywhere, savannah sparrows in good numbers, pine, prairie, palm, & yellow-rumped warblers, eastern phoebes, limpkin.
Peaceful waters highlights were the lark sparrows still hanging out at the south boundary T-intersection, lots of tree swallows and a few barn swallows mixed in, forster's tern, two brown pelicans, a sandhill crane, and the two ponds at the north fence were filled with lesser yellowlegs, least sandpipers, and dowitchers (I can't figure if long or short billed)...probably 2 dozen or more. A few roseated spoonbills, two belted kingfishers, and a mute swan also hanging along that pond.
I'm posting a shot of the dowitchers, in hopes someone might be able to confirm if long-billed or short-billed - I'm very unfamiliar with dowitchers as it's only the second time I've seen them.
