Bird feeders are for birds, and a Cooper's Hawk is a bird, so it seems it is all working out. Seriously, your feeder is probably one of many stops the killer(s) make during a week. There are lots of doves, and not nearly so many hawks. As long as you stock your feeder it should all balance out. Plus on a good day (maybe most)the observant dove can out run or out smart the hawk. Several nature centers I visit up North have feeders that attract hundreds of birds a day, and the hawks don't visit every day even in the worst weather. At one of those feeders, a sharp-shinned hawk that had just missed a dark-eyed junco was eaten by a coopers hawk. My vote is for enjoying all the birds that your feeder attracts.
