Good point about house cats. They can become real pests, and are amazingly efficient and persistant in their 'birding'. I have no problem with a cat that seeks an occasional meal, but well fed pets often kill, and kill frequently with no intent on eating the catch. I wouldn't put too much 'blame' on feeders. Seems the good birders get all the birds they want, feeders or not. A cat camping out under your feeder can cut your seed bill for the wrong reasons, however.
