Well, I couldn't get out to bird on Saturday for Miami CBC, so I went this afternoon instead. A nice passerine flock is in the park. 2 Cape Mays, both winter plumage, one noticeably brighter, but not nearly as bright as last winter's bird. 1 Female redstart, at least 1 male black-throated blue, 2 yellow-throated warblers, 1 brilliant prairie, several parulas, males and females/ immatures, and one parula that that looked unusually large. Numerous palms, 3+ blue-grey gnatcatchers, 2 eastern phoebes. Missing but around this winter were grey catbirds, and a female ruby-throated hummingbird. Parrots didn't visit today, but a large flock has been feeding on the gumbo-limbo fruits- with at 2 mitred parakeets, (both with extensive orange feathers on cheeks and nape- if they are another species let me know.. several white-eyed and blue-crowned parakeets, and a mystery parrot that either is red-masked or scarlet-fronted parakeet.
