Soon after we gathered at the Coe Visitors Center, a Shiny Cowbird was declared the likely bird of the day. However, there are other contenders, some listed below:
Swallow-tailed Kites over the main park road.
A young cormorant scarfing down a fish while being chased an older cormorant hoping to get the fish.
Baby Green Herons and Anhingas.
All the Black-crowned Night-Herons at Anhinga Trail.
Light and dark morph Short-tailed Hawks.
Both Bitterns at Anhinga Trail.
Skimmers, skimmers, and more skimmers at Flamingo.
All the Nuthatches at Long Pine Key/Research Road.
The 13 warbler species seen by one or more of the group.
The male Painted Bunting at the annex.
