After three days of brief seawatches from the balcony, I finally had jaegers. Yesterday 5 birds purposefully flew south and though fairly distant, the body shapes and flight styles seemed to be Pomarine. The Northern Gannet parade continues, with adults still in the majority. No sea ducks or loons yet but the number of Magnificent Frigatebirds is impressive.

The Crandon Beach Piping Plover flock is now 32, including 9 banded birds. Of the banded birds, 5 are returning birds, including a female that is spending her 6th winter here. No sign of Rocky but since he didn't return to his breeding grounds last June, there's not much hope. He was over 9-years-old and had flown more than 30,000 miles in his lifetime. It's great to have Rangel Diaz back, helping with Crandon Beach surveys!
