Ringed Teal are frequent in avicultural collections in Florida and have been observed as escapees since the 1970s. The most interesting report was of "200 or more" at Loxahatchee NWR in 1991.

There is really no chance that the bird at Wakodahatchee is a vagrant from South America, especially considering its abundance in Florida collections.

BTW, I'm aware of only one verifiable (= photographic) record of Ringed Teal in Florida, despite reports for more than 30 years. It would be worthwhile if you or others could obtan photos of the Wakodahatchee bird.
