Thanks for the info! I've considered sheet metal....how tall should it be? I'm not sure what could get at the eggs/nestlings, considering the depth of the box vs. the size of the entrance, other than a big rat snake which I've never seen here. I've wired the box, and where should branches be? There are several at different heights nearby, above and below - great for watching the fledging owlets in the past.
