Just a reminder that the second monthly bird walk at Tall Cypress Natural Area in Coral Springs is this Sunday, Oct 12 at 7:30am. Details at the link.

There has been lots of great migration activity at Tall Cypress this week: a pair of Blue-winged Warblers, King Rail and good numbers of Painted and Indigo Buntings (yes, I'm shamelessly applying "Toe's Rule" for getting attention) have arrived in the last couple of days. Other recent sightings include: Great Horned Owl, Broad-winged Hawk, Scarlet Tanager, Summer Tanager, Sedge and Carolina Wrens, Tennesee and BT Green Warbler. There has also been an unconfirmed report of YB Chat calling.

It was just about this time last year that the Western Kingbird made an appearance.
