It sounds like you had a great day. I also saw 4 bluebirds in the Kirby Storter parking lot. I had come from my first trip around the loop road (mostly in the fog!). Some of the other birds that I saw were:

Blue-headed Vireo
White-eyed Vireo
Great-crested Flycatcher
Tufted Titmouse
Northern Parula
Black-and-White Warblers (male and female)
Red-bellied Woodpeckers
Pileated Woodpecker
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
Prairie Warbler
Palm Warblers
Blue-gray Gnatcatchers
Typical herons, egrets, etc.

The highlights for me were the six River Otters! I saw three cross the road together somewhere in the first ten miles (from the east side entrance) and found another three fishing around the halfway point. None would pose for great photographs, but I do have enough evidence to prove what I saw. Oh, and I found a person barking at an alligator too. It is strange how many humans feel that an animal has to move in order for their encounter to really "count". The barking worked...and I gave the man a wide berth as I passed.
