First .About the Lawrence's.I first saw a small yellow bird flitting its tail with white outer tail coverts ala Hooded and said ,as I raised my binocs "cool ,a Hooded".When I got it in my binocs I said something a WHOLE lot different.The bird was all yellow with the belly fading to white under the tail. yellow wing bars on gray wing.Observed it off and on for 20 minutes. Faint gray face patch and throat patch.Illustration in my 4th edition Nat.Geo. of female Lawrence's is spot on. WAY COOL !!! Very active ,couldn't get a snapshot.I was also shaking from "birder shock"hahaha. Left a marked map at the gatehouse . Also probable Bell's Vireo.Looked like a faded compressed/condensed White-eyed with a stubbier bill.no discernable eyering . Good day for other stuff too. 2 Summer and 1 Scarlet Tanager with a Rose-breasted Grosbeak with 6 Warbler species in the Big Ficus at the north end.2 Yellow-billed Cuckoo. Black-throated Blue 10 B+w 4 Parula 3 Lawrence's (counts as 3 species right? nyuk nyuk nyuk} Redstart 6 Ovenbird Yellow-Throated 1 Palm 3 Cape-may 3 Magnolia 1 Prairie 2 Common Yellow throat 6 Catbirds 8 (none yesterday) Really cool day ..still shaking a little 'bout the Lawrence's.. Did I mention I saw a Lawrence's Warbler LOL
