There was a nice assortment of birds at Evergreen Cemetery this morning. We had 14 species of warblers including Blue-winged, Blackburnian, Hooded, Chestnut-sided, and Magnolia. Most of the activity was in the fruiting fig trees at the northern end near the Nielsen bench and by the Potter's field in the central area near the lake. We also had an adult Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, a Veery, and a Baltimore Oriole. The empid flycatcher wasn't calling but was identified by the black primaries, bright yellow throat, breast, and belly and the almond-shaped eyering. A Merlin was hanging out in the Australian pines.
