8am until Noon.Sept 24. Bruce P. and Steven K Noticed that there was a major cleanup of the seaweed from the beach. Net result less shorebirds overall. Still many Sanderlings and Ruddy Turnstone. Less than 20 peeps overall but still at least one Least Semipalmated and Western Sandpipers. Several Spotted Sandpipers by the Jetty. 1 each of Short-billed Dowitcher, Black-Bellied Plover, Piping Plover & Wilson's Plover. Less than 10 Semipalmated Plovers. Significant Falcon activity: 3 individual Merlins and 3 Peregrine Falcons. The Peregrines were together interacting with each other over the jetty. Earlier in the month there was a juvenile Seaside Sparrow.
