For those who have been following the saga, I've been commenting over the years on the need for a bigger boat as I was doing pelagic trips aboard my trusy, old 25' XENIA IV. That little boat performed above and beyond the call of duty, not only with pelagic trips off Miami, but I fished for a living during my college years aboard that boat, making overnight trips to Key West on a regular basis. I now have the much roomier XENIA V ready to go after several years and more headaches that I want to mention. I know many of you have expressed an interest in pelagic trips, and I've tried to keep notes, but I want to point out that everyone's welcome to come on future trips. I usually don't schedule trips too far in advance since these are so dependent on weather and other factors, but if anyone is interested please contact me and I'll put you on the list to be notified. Best time of year for us is spring and summer, but there's been so little exploring done in other times that who knows what's out there. Right now many birds are migrating south, including pelagic species. In October we get Jaeger migration, and we've had all three species on the same trip before. Please email me at my usual address or at formax123@bellsouth.net, or call me at 305-338-7392. And remember, old fishermen never die, they just smell that way.
