Brehan Furfey and I are shorebirding right now, and a single Whimbrel just joined the Sanderlings, peeps and plovers at Crandon Beach. It is currently just south of lifeguard stand #12. This area is best accessed by entering the Crandon South Beach entrance, driving to the south end of the parking lot, then walking out to the beach where there is a roped off area for shorebirds and terns.
