This morning, I completed my annual North American Breeding Bird Survey in Everglades National Park, a 25-mile route along the main park road from Flamingo to near Pay-hay-okee. As usual, mosquito levels ranged from unbearable for the first couple of stops to tolerable, then nonexistent for the rest of the morning.
