Click above to register for: Leica Lounge @ Leica Store Miami w/ Kirsten Hines Leica Lounge: Bird Photography with Wildlife Author/Photographer Kirsten Hines @ Leica Store Miami Thursday, March 8, 7-9pm (free and open to the public. 60 spaces available) Author, photographer and conservationist Kirsten Hines will discuss how her passion for nature and travel led her to backpack around the world for three years, a journey that converted her from a herpetologist scientifically analyzing nature to a storyteller reflecting nature. Kirsten will divulge how her biologist training influences her photography and how being involved in the arts has expanded her work to include a more interpretive abstract style aimed at conveying the emotional experience of nature. The Leica Lounge is a lecture series hosted by Leica Store Miami which features presentations by local photographers, editors, gallerists and educators. Held monthly, these free events are designed to create and inspire the local photography community through sharing images and exchanging ideas. This event is free and open to the public. 60 seats available. and 2-Day Field & Lightroom Workshop w/ Kirsten Hines 2-Day Bird Photography Field & Classroom Workshop Wildlife Author/Photographer Kirsten Hines @ Wakodahatchee Wetlands & Tropical Audubon Society Saturday, March 10 & Sunday, March 11 (by suggested donation to Tropical Audubon Society, 12 spaces available. Scroll down for more information) Join wildlife photographer, author and TAS board member Kirsten Hines for a 2-day Bird Photography adventure focused on enhancing the design elements and visual impact of the images you capture. The weekend's field component takes place at Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Delray Beach on Saturday, March 10, from 6:30-9:30am. Participants then reconvene for classroom interaction on Sunday, March 11, from 9am 'til noon at TAS's Steinberg Nature Center campus in South Miami. The curriculum is designed for intermediate photographers with a minimum 70mm lens (or beginners who know how to operate their camera beyond automatic settings). The minimum suggested donation to Tropical Audubon Society is $30 for both days. Class size is limited. Pre-registration is required and good for 2-day workshop. Attendance both days is expected.
