It's with great sadness to post that Murray Gardler passed away last night in Brooksville, FL. Murray was a great friend and an icon in the birding community. His presence and positive influence was felt for many years at the Space Coast Birding Festival and on the Florida Ornithological Society, especially the _Florida Field Naturalist_ publication. His moniker of "Mangrove Murray" was in recognition of his great sleuthing in November 2002 when he identified the first Mangrove Swallow seen in the US. There are many great Murray stories to be shared! In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to HPH Hospice, 12242 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville FL 34613.
