While waiting to board a friends flats boat for a bonefish expedition 2 days ago, at 8 am , I heard at least 2 mangrove cuckoos calling from across the waterway. The calls were coming from the direction of where I have seen them in past springs--in the bushes and mangroves at the entrance to the jetty.
