Sixteen birders joined Paul Bithorn and me for today's TAS Miami Exotics tour. Also joining us today was Ben Ruby from Wild Lime Adventures (www.wildlimeadventures.com), who provided one of the vans we used for today's tour. During an intense, full day of birding, we found 23 different exotic bird species: Swan Goose - a few at Baptist Hospital Egyptian Goose - pairs at several locations Muscovy Duck - many locations Common Peafowl - seven, South Miami Gray-headed Swamphen - six, Dolphin Mall Rock Pigeon - many locations White-winged Dove - a few in Miami Springs Eurasian Collared -Dove - many locations Monk Parakeet - a small flock, Miami Springs Scarlet-fronted Parakeet - one, Miami Springs Crimson-fronted Parakeet - a small flock, Miami Springs Green Parakeet - one, Miami Springs Mitred Parakeet - a large flock at Baptist Hospital Blue-and-yellow Macaw - three, Gables Estates (thanks as always to Daria Feinstein for providing access and graciously opening her home to us) Yellow-chevroned Parakeet - several small flocks in Miami Springs Lilac-crowned Parrot - two in South Miami Orange-winged Parrot - several, South Miami Red-whiskerd Bulbul - six, neighborhood north of Baptist Hospital European Starling - many locations Common Myna - two, Central Shopping Plaza Hill Myna - one, South Miami Spot-breasted Oriole - three, South Miami House Sparrow - several locations Other birds of note seen during the day included Limpkin (Dolphin Mall), Short-tailed Hawk (Baptist Hospital) and Baltimore Oriole (South Miami).
