L31W Canal: Ducks, Shorebirds, Sora

Duck numbers and diversity continue to increase along the spreader canal past the first water control structure of L31W Canal. 8 total species were tallied today: Northern Pintail American Wigeon Gadwall Northern Shoveler Ring-necked Duck Mottled Duck Green-winged Teal Blue-winged Teal Many shorebirds (Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Least and Pectoral Sandpiper, Wilson's Snipe) are also present along the muddy area east of the berm and west of the spreader canal up until the first water control structure.
