Twelve birders joined Paul Bithorn and me for today's Miami Exotics tour, which kicked off this weekend's Bird Festival at Fairchild. We visited the following locations during the tour: Matheson Hammock Park Gables Estates Fuch's Park Shorty's BBQ Kings Creek Baptist Hospital Church at SW 104 Street/SW 82 Avenue A D Barnes Park Dolphin Mall Ocean Bank on SW 42 Avenue Central Shopping Plaza Miami Springs Virginia Gardens Following are the 17 exotics we tallied during the day: Swan Goose Graylag Goose Egyptian Goose Muscovy Duck Gray-headed Swamphen Rock Pigeon White-winged Dove Eurasian Collared-Dove Monk Parakeet Mitred Parakeet Blue-and-yellow Macaw Yellow-chevroned Parakeet Red-whiskered Bulbul European Starling Common Myna Spot-breasted Oriole House Sparrow At Gables Estates, we found a flycatcher that appeared to be a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher. At least one participant obtained photographs, which hopefully can be used to confirm the bird's identity.
