I birded west of Homestead at Lucky Hammock and the Annex area also known as the Frog Pond area. I was there for about an hour this morning and had a nice selection of migrants. I was able to dig out 12-species of warbler which was nice. I have listed some of the birds below. There has also been about half a dozen White-tailed Deer feeding in the mowed area on the north side of 9336 across from the turn to Lucky Hammock. You now have to park outside a gate and walk or ride a bike to get to these areas. Northern Parula Cape May Warbler Black-throated Blue Warbler Prairie Warbler Black-and-white Warbler American Redstart Prothonotary Warbler Ovenbird Louisiana Waterthrush Northern Waterthrush Hooded Warbler Common Yellowthroat White-tailed Kite, two birds flew by. Short-tailed Hawk, two dark morph birds. Veery Bobolink, lots. Baltimore Oriole
