Currently, the flooded ag field at the intersection of New Vandergrift Williams Road and CR 700 (Palm Beach County) is excellent for migrating shorebirds. There, Miriam, Linda and I accumulated 6 sandpiper, 3 plover, 3 tern and 3 duck species. Along with expected yellowlegs, ibis, herons, egrets and night-herons, were American Avocets, Wood Storks and American White Pelicans. Farther west along Highway 80, were 5 swallow species (including 1-2 Bank Swallows) and an unexpected Yellow-headed Blackbird. New Vandergrift Williams Road is a working road, so complete pull off is suggested.
