This evening, while walking through my backyard, I was surprised to find a Connecticut Warbler. I initially noticed a peculiar scratching sound coming from a dense area planted with native vegetation. Then I briefly glimpsed a small warbler on the ground with a bold white eye ring. I immediately ran inside and grabbed my camera. The bird was still in the same area and I managed a few photos as it foraged for the next hour or so. Are these birds commonly seen in suburban areas during this time of year? P.S. I have attached the eBird checklist which has a photo of the bird.
