Found at 9.40am on the Barrier Island Trail, which is accessed from the north end of the first beach parking lot on the right as you enter the park. It was feeding in a fruiting Gumbo Limbo on the western part of the loop. eBird checklist has photos and details. To access this spot follow the trail clockwise and rather than taking the short cut east, continue north. From the Gumbo Limbo trail marker, walk about 66 yards along the trail until you reach a large exposed tree root that crosses the trail diagonally. The Gumbo Limbo and Grape trees that the bird was feeding in will be about 25 feet from the trail on your left. A Black-whiskered Vireo was feeding in the same tree. Please stay on the trails.
