I'm 15 and have been an avid birder for around half my life. My mom and I are thinking of flying out to south Florida (from California) later this week because I'm a lister and am dying to see some warblers and tropical birds! However, I've heard it's been quite a rocky year bird-wise due to El Nino and such, so I'm wondering where the current best spots for lifers are (or whether we should wait and come another time). I've already been to the area, but I only had time to go to a couple spots around Boca Raton (family event there), so I managed to see many of the common water birds. (I don't know how I didn't manage to see a Reddish Egret!) We need to book tickets ASAP, so any insight or recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you!
