This morning two Ospreys circled Cape Florida at 9:35 and 10:50 AM and seemed to interact with one another. One of the Ospreys appears to be the Caribbean race or "Ridgway's Osprey." It has a white head and the underwing markings are light. Other than the Flamingo area of ENP and along the Overseas Highway in the Lower Keys, I don't know of reports of this subspecies in FL. Bill Baggs Cape Florida SP installed a nesting platform several months ago so perhaps these birds will be interested. The Ridgway's flew northwest and I wasn't able to photograph it.
