Paul Bithorn showed me around Miami Springs this afternoon. We started off getting three parakeet species only found in this neighborhood: Green, Crimson-fronted and Scarlet-fronted Parakeets among the more widely-distributed Yellow-chevroned, Red-masked, White-eyed Mitred and Nanday Parakeet. While cruising for parrots and parakeets we had Broad-winged, Cooper's and Sharp-shinned Hawk (2), an Eastern Screech-Owl sticking it's head out of a dead royal palm and a staked-out Spot-breasted Oriole. True to form, we celebrated at Woody's West End Tavern with red ales from Shipyard Brewery in Maine after watching the parakeets arrive at a roost for the night. Life is good. Alex Harper
