I was all alone and did the Dump Marsh and Mount Trashmore area for the CBC. It was way too hot for this time of year as well as an abundance of mosquitoes and deer flies. Not the most comfortable conditions to go birding when you are used to some cool weather at this time of year. I ended up with 46-species starting from 7:00 am and finishing by 11:30 am. I had the usual species for this area minus all duck species! I think that this is the first time I have never seen a duck at Dump Marsh for this time of year! The best bird that I had was a flock of 28-American Goldfinch in the Australian Pines on the south and west side of the pond at Dump Marsh. Roberto called to tell me they had Franklin's Gull at the Black Point boat ramp, so I drove over there to find one mixed in with many Laughing Gulls. While photographing that bird, another one flew in for a total of two. I guess it was a pretty good morning, although I wish we had some cooler weather.
