Matheson Hammock County Park offered a lot of diversity this morning with nearly all the regulars present, along with several highlight species. I did not get to bird the entire park thoroughly, so I am sure there are even more nice species around. The marina's boat launch parking lot (north and south) were especially good. The large puddles had Semipalmated Plover, Killdeer, and Least Sandpiper. The Australian Pines in the south parking lot had a small but noisy flock of American Goldfinch. The north side of the picnic area just west of the stone gazebo had a nice feeding flock, including the continuing Nashville Warbler as well as a Magnolia Warbler. The service road was quiet, but the narrow nature trail on the west side of Old Cutler Road was very good (with patience). WARBLING VIREO was in a mixed feeding flock between markers 4 and 5. I also flushed a Hermit Thrush up from the trail. Carlos
