Southern California '15

Seven birders joined Paul Bithorn and me on June 13-21 for the TAS birding tour to Southern California. Over nine days of birding, our route took us through ten different counties and to dozens of SoCal birding hotspots, including Channel Islands and Joshua Tree National Parks and Sequoia National Monument. During our travels, we experienced a myriad of habitat types from coastal sage scrub and chaparral to oak woodlands and savannas, riparian corridors, deserts, mountains, beaches, estuaries, the open ocean and an offshore island. By tour's end, we found and identified 184 species of birds and 17 species of mammals, plus uncounted reptiles, bugs and other critters. To view my trip report, click on the link below.
