After spending my birthday week in Costa Rica, I had the pleasure of leading a great group through the Deering Estate natural areas. We met at 7:30am and began working the parking lot before hiking north along the Chinese Bridge Trail to the pineland access gate. From there we worked the pine rockland and finally began birding through the tropical hammock south back to the public portion of the estate. Full checklist linked below (please feel free to add if I missed anything): http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S26051916 For those interested, here is an album I put together with some of the bird shots from my trip: https://www.flickr.com/photos/rangelrok/albums/72157659451911424 I ended with 78 species, 63 being lifers.
