A friend sent me video footage of twenty American Flamingos wading on a flat just north of Soldier Key today. This is north of Elliot Key. They were there from 11am and remained there when he left at noon. Many of us have had Flamingos in flight over Biscayne Bay but this is only the second time I've seen documentation of the birds wading in the Bay. The other instance I know of was near Turkey Point several years ago.
