The Reward is a party fishing boat that needs a minimum of 10 people paying for fishing (With a Florida ID and your own gear it's about $35. With an ID an no gear it's $40. If you're just going for the ride and have an ID it's $30). If they are under the minimum, participants have the option of paying the difference if they still want to go. I've gone out on it several times and depending on the captain they'll stick relatively close to shore (1-2 miles) or go further out (4-5 miles). Unless the boat is privately reserved (like Audubon of Everglades did recently) it'll be strictly fishing and they really won't accommodate to chase birds. Trust me, I've tried... BUT if there is something good (like in 2013 during the Razorbill invasion) they'll put a little effort into showing them to you if you ask. It is definitely a nice alternative but isn't anywhere near as good as a Toelagic. On Monday, June 8th I am considering going out on the Kelley Fleet boat out of Haulover to see if can come across something further north. Toe's boat will be ready Tuesday. Now, whether it's next Tuesday or a Tuesday in 2017 we still don't know.
