The reason it's not a Yellow-faced Grassquit can be seen in the shape of the bill, Cuban Grassquit has a thicker bill and you can also see the shaded area of the face in the photo that is a field mark for Cuban Grassquit, in the Yellow-faced Grassquit there would be marking of a yellow brow and throat if it was close to be an adult male while if it was a female it would have a plumage similar to a very dull female Painted Bunting with an eye-ring.
