Nai, was it near the green library at the Modesto Maidique campus? I once found a dead northern parula there, which probably struck a window. It is unfortunate but it's also important to document bird strikes so it's easier to get the university to do something about it if it's happening often. You can post it to iNaturalist.org with the location you found the bird and it will show up on the database.
