Don't know about the recent report, but in the past the owls could be found by walking the access road on the west side of Old Cutler Rd, across from the north entrance to Fairchild Tropical Gardens. Walk this road through the hammock until it opens up and look in the Australian Pines and Royal Palms just before the open field. In late afternoon you may here them calling.
