The Kentucky Warbler was still south of the eastern carpark at the Plantation Preserve this morning at about 8:30. It was with several Ovenbirds foraging under the large Ficus just east of the playground.. They seemed to be attracted to the rotting fig fruits on the ground under the tree, perhaps going after associated insects. Several other warblers were present including a Worm-eating, a Northern Waterthrush, a Black-and-white, and a Black-throated Blue. A Downy Woodpecker was also in the area, as were many Blue-gray Gnatcatchers.
