Sunday morning provided season-appropriate shorebirding, especially at the southwest corner of the main impoundment, where close approach was possible. Breeding plumage short-billed dowitchers and pectorals. Least sandpipers were in their usual bewildering set of plumages. If you plan to stop here on a grand round of the farms, remember that 880 is blocked from the bridge near Rte 80/98 to somewhere west of that, so you can't get through from US 27. Maybe Sam Senter will work.
