Steve, Here are some of my recent sightings. Owls definately abound: I have seen a Barn Owl flying aound at the wildlife area just north of Lucky Hammock. I have seen him around sunset. Two weeks ago. There was also a Great Horned Owl at the L31w canal where the bridge crosses to the everglades national park. I have seen a Barred Owl at Lucky Hammock a week back around sunset. Burrowing owl at Tamiami Airport a week ago. Eastern Screech Owl at Kendall Indian Hammocks three weeks ago.
