The Buff-bellied hummingbird was still present Sunday morning, but much more difficult to see than yesterday. It liked to be in the Pavonia bush (green flowers with yellow stamens) near the walkway to the nature center, but also spent time in the nearby Mexican Hat plant, and on the other side of the garden. Always furtive, always hidden. No favored resting perch was found. A dry rattly call is different from the zooping of the Ruby-throats.
