Time constraints meant I only could join this adventure til noon, but that afforded me enough time to try out my new camera body, and get a feel for a completely new focusing system. Unfortunately, I had neither the time nor inclination to read the 600 page camera manual, nor to practice panning technique on birds in flight, before today. If you follow the link below you will see some of the raptors that made an appearance this morning, and a few static shots of other birds. I normally do not expect much from my photos of birds in flight and these shots are no exception, but with practice, and some study of the manual, perhaps future shots will be more in focus. And of course my heavy cropping only amplifies the apparent problems... copy and paste: https://www.flickr.com/photos/joelnrosenthal/albums/72157659865567189
