YNP has very little bird activity. All are mystified. Spent 85 miles and three hours and saw only one raven and hundreds of people looking at a bear a half mile away. Gardiner is chaos with construction everywhere. Mammoth to Norris is also under construction and expect long dusty delays. snow rain and very high winds are normative. First lazuli buntings came in today, all three of them. BUT...there is now spotted towhee and green tail towhee about. Two of them. Wow! At this time, YNP for birding is either too early or, like last year, it will not be good. I return to FLL Saturday. Sorry to miss you. The thought is beginning to occur to me that I could be an "information" site for TAS ers that are coming to this area.
