The over-night rains eased up enough to allow eight people to enjoy a morning a birding in Greynolds Park. Like other post today, the park was pretty active with a nice variety of migrants dominated by numerous Ovenbirds and Worm-eating Warblers sighted throughout the park. A respectable eleven species of warblers were observed, which were part of a total of 31 species of birds recorded on the walk. These include: Anhinga, Moorhen, American Egret, Laughing gull, Osprey, Coopers hawk, Eastern Kingbird, Gray Kingbird, Great Crested Flycatcher, Acadian Flycatcher, Red-eyed Vireo, N. Blue Jay, Barn Swallow, Blue-gray Gnatcher, N. Mockingbird, European Starling, N. Parula Warbler, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Prairie Warbler, Yellow-throated Warbler, Black and White Warbler, American Restart, Ovenbird, Northern Waterthrush, Louisiana Waterthrush, Worm-eating Warbler, Prothonotary Warbler, Common Grackle, Fish Crow, and Northern Cardinal. Thanks to all who came out on the walk to share their knowledge and skills in birding as well friendship. Jim King
