Migration was strong at Barnes this morning with overall numbers of migrant birds in the low hundreds and action throughout the park. The birding was dominated by many of the common warblers that winter in the Caribbean including Ovenbird (big numbers), N. Waterthrush, Am. Redstart (big numbers), Black-throated Blue Warbler, N. Parula (big numbers), Yellow-throated Warbler, Worm-eating Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, Prairie Warbler, Black-and-White Warbler. I actually set a personal high for Worm-eating Warblers with 17.
While scouring over the common stuff I was able to find a male Hooded Warbler in the Homeless Hammock and an immature male Blackburnian Warbler near the cabins in the nature walk area. Other migrants included:
"Trail's Flycatcher" (raised boardwalk area)
Red-eyed Vireo
Yellow-throated Vireo
Baltimore Oriole (FOTS)
Summer Tanager
Ruby-throated Hummingbird (FOTS)
Great-crested Flycatcher
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Barn Swallow
