On Weds 8/20, four of us birded western PB County from Miami Canal, Bolles Canal, Browns Farm Rd, Sod Farms, and Gladesview Rd where we had Barn Owls, King Rail, 19 species of shorebirds including great views of spinning Phalaropes, 3 Marbled Godwits, Avocets and Uplands Sandpipers.
A field on Browns Farm road which had been flooded since late May/early June was drained in the previous days and there were lots of shorebirds around - many more than what was found the Duda trips this year. Unfortunately, that same field had few birds other than waders only 3 days later.
There were still some flooded fields with potential for the upcoming weeks as of Sat 8/23.
