After having lunch with my wife nearby, I stopped to check out Cutler Wetlands around 1:00 pm. The horde of gulls was back, with at least 3 Franklin's Gulls, including one adult that is acquiring its breeding plumage. There are a lot of Laughing and Ring-billed Gulls, and about 15 Lesser Black-backed in varying plumages. Some of the Laughing are also getting their breeding plumage with black hoods. I called Larry M. who happened to be in the area and he joined me for a little while checking out the mass of gulls. We also saw a Forster's Tern, and a Merlin perched on a pole right over us. Didn't see any shorebirds or Ducks, but I only checked the north side where the gulls were at. Cheers!
