Loop Road today produced a similar list to Bill's of 6/16. Missed: Barred Owl; Additions: Eastern Kingbird (2 singles and a pair), Common Yellowthroat, Eastern Screech-Owl and Yellow-billed Cuckoo. Many birds were feeding youngsters and I was surprised by the numbers of Downy Woodpeckers, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers and Tufted Titmice. A Red-eyed Vireo was 1/2 mile in from Monroe Station entrance and another one was at the slough, along with the Wood Duck pair. Special treats: Otters, Bobcat and feral pigs.
