After three failed attempts at finding the Red-necked Stint, my son Philip and I finally saw it yesterday Sunday July 20th. We had great views for the two hours that we watched it. We were there from about 4:00 p.m. until a little after 6:00 p.m. The bird was seen near the concrete telephone pole that looks like a cross, it was foraging along the beach. It was a much more enjoyable time driving home from the success in seeing it after the three failed attempts! I have attached a photo of the bird with a Least Sandpiper in front, stint in the middle and a Western Sandpiper in the back. The bird was not afraid which to me seems unusual for a Eurasian species.
